Privacy policy
Last updated: 16 juin 2026
At Somnologs, your sleep data stays on your device. This policy explains what we process, why, and the rights you have.
Data controller
The data controller is Adrien Delannoy (Entrepreneur individuel (micro-entreprise)), reachable par e-mail.
The principle: your data stays with you
Somnologs is designed to work without a server. The nights, the profile and the information you enter are stored locally, on your phone. We have no access to it, we do not collect it on our servers, we do not sell it on and we do not use it for any advertising purpose. The only exception concerns purely technical error reports, enabled by default to fix bugs and which you can disable at any time (see below).
What data and for what purpose
- Your nights and feelings (bedtime and wake-up times, awakenings, perceived quality, habits noted): to display your sleep diary and your trends.
- Your profile (for example age, sleep goal, medicines you enter yourself): to personalize the display and prepare for your appointments.
- Your appointments and exports: to help you prepare for an appointment and to send, if you decide to, a diary to your healthcare professional.
Some of this information may relate to your health. It is processed only on your device and under your control.
Legal basis
The processing of your data in the app rests on your consent and on the performance of the service you request by using it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by erasing your data or uninstalling the app. The technical error reports described below rest, for their part, on our legitimate interest in fixing bugs and securing the app; you can object to them by disabling them in the settings.
Sharing
No automatic sharing. An export (PDF, CSV or JSON) only happens when you trigger it yourself, and you choose the recipient (for example your doctor). Downloading the app goes through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), which apply their own privacy rules.
Error reports
So that an update does not break the app without us knowing, a single third-party tool helps us spot and fix bugs. It is enabled by default, on the basis of our legitimate interest in ensuring the stability and security of the service. You can disable it at any time in Settings, under Privacy.
Only technical data is transmitted (type of error, device model, app version, screen affected), tied to a random installation identifier. No sleep data, no name, no email address and no IP address is associated with it, and this information is used only to fix bugs (never for advertising or tracking). It is hosted in the European Union (Germany) by Functional Software, Inc. ("Sentry"), which acts as a processor on our behalf.
Website analytics
This website uses Matomo, an analytics tool that we host ourselves, on our servers in France (OVH). We use it only to understand which pages are viewed and to improve the site. No data is shared with any third party or used for advertising.
Analytics is configured to respect your privacy: no cookie is set, your IP address is anonymised and your browser’s "Do Not Track" signal is honoured. This only covers your browsing on the website, never the data you enter in the app. Because it cannot identify you, this measurement relies on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and does not require a consent banner, in line with the recommendations of the French data protection authority (CNIL).
You can object at any time: simply turn on "Do Not Track" in your browser, or use this opt-out link: stop being counted in the analytics.
Retention
Your data is kept for as long as the app is installed and you keep it. It disappears when you erase it from the app or when you uninstall the app.
Security
As your data stays on your device, its security also depends on that of your phone. The app offers an optional biometric lock to add protection when it opens.
Your rights
As everything is local, you exercise most of your rights directly in the app: viewing your data, correcting it, exporting it or erasing it. For any question relating to the GDPR, write to us par e-mail. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Minors
When the app is used for a child, it must be used by a parent or legal guardian, who remains responsible for the data entered.
